In the pursuit of constant personal development I enjoy having 3-4 medium-to-large projects going. Considering I’m still in the “starting out” stage of life, most of the projects are fairly basic, though they consume a lot of time, effort and, of course, money. Since several of the projects are online, you’ll be able to watch them grow and mature!
Internet Marketing
Internet marketing is simply a fancy way of saying “make money online.” My goal is to build a full-time online income by 2010. Most of the websites that I run are static websites and are rarely updated, with the exception of Smart Personal Development, the only actual “blog” in the network.
Over the next two years, my goal is to manage websites that rank on the first page of Google for the search terms “Make Money”, “Make Money Online”, “Work at Home”, “Work from Home” and “Personal Development.” I have quite a ways to go.
My two main websites right now are Smart Personal Development and Make Money.
The Educational Journey
My educational beliefs are a bit off-the-beaten path, as I describe them in Rethinking College, an alternative approach to a college education. My ultimate goal is to be self-employed with an online/tutoring business, so I’m not getting a degree “because it’s the only way to get a great job.” My reasons for getting several degrees are purely personal. Without going into the details, my plan is to have bachelor degrees in marketing, political science, philosophy and a Masters in Business Administration. My initial focus is on the BA in Marketing.
As I’m attending college I’m also working two jobs, including internet marketing, and am saving for the second and third year, as the first two years are paid for, supposing I go to a community college. This means I’ll be going to community college, then transferring to a larger state college, and then transfer to a larger more prestigious university for any advanced degrees — all without debt.
Considering this is a purely personal quest, I don’t have to get the degree in order to be successful. This means a year-or-two break isn’t out of the question, though the justification would need to be some sort of an emergency.
I’m on track to have a degree in marketing and an MBA within six years, 100% paid for.
